Hello Savvies, I constantly watch out for Android malware by following forums, groups and cybersecurity companies. Which is why I’d like to pass this information to you, the HardwareSavvy Newsletter subscribers first.
Google keeps identifying and pulling malicious apps from the Google Play Store. These apps were later identified to collect your information (your phonebook contacts, SMS messages etc.) and either sell it or use it for malicious purposes.
In a recent sweep Google identified apps that might have affected around 100,000 Android users. Please see the list of apps below (these were already pulled from the Play Store) and if you still have them on you phone (chances are low), then uninstall them.
