Hey Savvy. It looks like only 16% of you see my emails. I blame Gmail’s deceptive practices of hiding my emails in “Promotions” tab for 84% of you. And this is after you leaving your email and then confirming that you want to receive my newsletters (double opt-in). I will test out sending you all reminders about the newsletter from my info@hardwaresavvy.com email. Apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing how it’s going to work out.
The bottom line is: "To correct, you can just drag and drop one such message from Promotions to Primary and click Yes on the confirmation black box for all future messages. "
Bob, thank you for sharing that! I've read the forum and it looks like it was one I've seen before. But this is a great thing to keep in mind! I appreciate your comment and thank you for being part of the community!
I received mine in my gmail.com account but it was in the spam folder. I marked it not spam and it was moved to my inbox where I opened it. Hope that helps.
That's great to hear Michael! I have surveyed many other creators and talked to our subscribers and will make a video explaining what I think is going on. In short, Gmail wants creators and companies to pay them by hiding "spam" and "promotions" in a separate folder. Nowadays it's no longer "I want to get emails from you, heres' my email". It's more like "Here's my email, then I'll go confirm that I really want to get emails from you, then I'll move your emails from "spam" or "promotions" into my main inbox, then "I will reply to your email so Gmail thinks it's not a promotion", then "I will mark your email as important". Finally, even after that, most will still not get the emails they've signed up for.
I received your emails in my comcast.net account just fine.
Great to hear that Rustie! Thank you! It looks like Google is the problem here!
1) 'open rate' is not the same as 'received rate.' I subscribe to numerous newsletters for whom I do not open every issue.
2) Gmail provides a relatively easy way to 'train' it so that it will no longer go into the Promotions tab. Here's a Support Forum response which explains it: https://support.google.com/mail/thread/4185307/how-can-keep-emails-from-going-into-promotion-instead-of-my-inbox?hl=en
